Streamers around the World' Exhibition
From May 30th to June 5th Paris, Palais du Luxembourg
Streamers, flags symbolizing environmental protection will be exhibited in the Luxembourg Garden (French Senate) during sustainable development week from May 30th to June 5th. As part of «Streamers around the World», an international awareness building campaign organized by Veolia Environnement, children from around twenty countries created designs. The French national Commission for the UNESCO has given its support to the operation.
The exhibition will be officially inaugurated by Christian Poncelet, President of the French Senate, Jean Favier, Member of the Institute and president of the French national Commission for the UNESCO, and Henri Proglio, CEO of Veolia Environnement. They will present prizes to the winning classes from France, some European countries and Morocco on May 31st at 11/15 am.
Students will from Morocco, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech republic, Slovakia to attend the event.
Alongside with the streamers exhibition, workshops for children from 8 to 12 will be conducted by professionals, to play and work on the theme « the environment is my nature .. and my health. they will be available everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. These will be located near the St Michel RER entrance, across from the bandstand.
This event aims to encourage people of all ages to think about our planet's environmental stakes against demographic and urban development trends, and to express their contribution and commitment following a world's citizenship approach.
"Veolia Environnement's mission goes beyond the mere capacity to meet our environmental and social responsibilities. In addition, we must involve future generation in sustainable development issues through awareness building and education, because today's children will be tomorrow environmental citizens", said Henri Proglio, CEO.
On June 5th, World Environment Day, numerous sites of Veolia Environnement will honour these young artists by exposing their works.
