2008 extra-financial rating

In the 2008 extra-financial ratings Veolia Environnement has been selected again for inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (World and Stoxx) and the Ethibel Sustainability Indices, all of which select companies in terms of their sustainable development performances.

The DJSI World Index 2008 picked 320 of the biggest 2,500 companies from the Dow Jones World Index, and this year the DJSI Stoxx's European selection includes 162 Dow Jones STOXX 600 firms. Veolia Environnement qualified for inclusion on both indexes.

Veolia Environnement was also one of the 24 French CAC 40 companies selected this year by the British index FTSE4Good. The FTSE4Good is composed of some 900 references from firms listed on the FTSE Global Equity Indexes.

Following the last review in September 2008. Veolia Environnement was also selected again by the Ethibel Sustainability Indices (Vigeo), which include the Ethibel Excellence Europe and Ethibel Excellence Global indices.

Being compared for the first time to exclusively British companies, Veolia Environnement was not retained this year to qualify for the European ASPI Eurozone index (Vigeo).
