In Norway, the Oslo city council has awarded its Recycling Prize for 2007 to the Oslo Port Authority (principal) and Veolia Environmental Services (contractor) for achieving a recycling rate of 98% when demolishing an oil terminal and store at the port. The demolition work included removing asbestos and PCB from the buildings.
In the United States, Veolia Environmental Services North America was named a recipient of Intel Corporation's 2007 Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding service performance in the transportation and disposal of hazardous waste for Intel.
