Electric bikes for Veolia Water field operatives in Changzhou, China

In order to improve working conditions and efficiency of field operatives on their meter-reading rounds, they were provided with 28 electric bikes at the start of the year to replace their own personal vehicles.

This initiative is a first in China, offering greater safety to the operatives while reducing the time spent on rounds and protecting the environment. The project was welcomed with enthusiasm and proved to be a big motivation-booster for everyone involved.

Bikes' used batteries are returned to Veolia Water's supplier which transfers them to its own treatment subsidiary. Afterwards, Veolia Water receives the batteries' disposal certificates from the Environmental Board.
